I know this is a old message, I know for sure that this car is the first project of a CAR2000 by Mantua in 1976 this the complete model:
In 1980 the CAR 2000 was improved with a radio tray and the "basculino"
as you can see here:
The same year Mantua started the project for the CAR2000 F1
In September 1980 Mantuastarted also the Manta project
I live very close to Mantua Model factory and I often speak about vintage models with Franco Poldi and his son Massimo. I also got a lot of information from "unoaotto" a RC magazine pubblished by Mantua from the middle Seventies up to the beginning of the nineties.
If you need infos about Mantua Vintage feel free to ask...
ciao

Very nice site, I like vintage cars! I' Max Poldi and I know all cars of Mantua Model Production. The Mantua TT 2wd in the picture is the Manta Cross from years "80" one version with solid axle and "De Lux" with rear differential. The car from the beginning of discussion is the first type of car 2000 with solid axle, than arrive the Car2ooo competition and Elite with red radio platine in plastic. The suspension with white plastics is the Car 2000 F1 1980-1981 project by Poldi Franco and Vittoriano Orazi ( we still have some kits new in box), in 1981-82 arrived the Manta series: Manta standard with solid axle, Manta Competition with rear diff, Manta Endurance with front suspension only and Manta4 with 4 indipendent suspension.
I hope You enjoy thos details from Mantua Cars! Ciao
