Thank you....It must be delicious!....This front Thorp wheel setup is to compliment the rear Thorp wheels, so the car has 4 Thorp wheels all around to make it look nicer. It also has an advantage by using ball bearings compared to the original RC300 wheels that use bushings. I will post the complete shots of the car when I finish truing the tires......

Thank you my friend I just noticed the custom writing on the Budweiser Beer can, nice touch I'm thirtsty now..

It looks that the color of the front wheels are different from the rear, so I'll need change them to match the color.

I actually didn't dye the wheels. I have some wheels that are white and some that are yellowish, like the front wheels show in the picture. I don't remember exactly, but I believe they came in two different colors or some of the wheels maybe got discolored over time due to age

I guess that yellowish one is just changed colour tone by being aged.



I have the experience to dye the wheel. Dylon is the best one for that.
It is so well to dye for the nylon wheel.

Yeah, it must be due to age.

I have also have done some dying of nylon parts, but I normally use a different brand that I can get here.

Is FRP Radio plate own made when you were doing in the 70's?

Attached is my other BD. The Can Muff is located on the radio plate as photo.
Such spec was done by Mr.Gene Husting at RC World Cup Monaco 1979.
There were lots of interesting trial during 70's to 80's.

Would you write few lines on how you dye wheels ? It would be nice if we can share a bit of your experience
For the yellowish wheels, TR85 had posted a method sometimes ago to make them white again; he uses a highly concentrated peroxyde (40%) - overnight.
I never tried it since I could not find the peroxyde here.

ben moi je fais comme ça :
tu prends un becher 1 litre d' eau du sel de cuisine ton dylon tu met tout ça sur un agitateur chauffant . pour ma part c'est 4 heure de barbotage à partir de pièces blanche asso , pour obtenir un noir homogène . (temperature 90° mini)

pour le rouge j' ai la pastille mais j' ai pas encore essayé.
je vais d' abord blanchir les pièces avec H2O2 pour que la teinte finale puisse etre homogène , je vous tiendrai au courant du resultat .


la marque dylon est très connu des modelisme
voir chez over RC ( site genial , dans techniques et réglages)

attention j' ai fait des essai avec d' autre marque (en noir ) c'est la catastrophe.

autre point ; pour fixer la couleur on utilise du sel , il faut donc soigneusement rinçer les pièces sous peine de corrosion inexpliqué de toutes les petites pièces en acier....

Hi Eric-z,
What I normally do is boil a pan with water and add the dye color that you want to use. I put in a little vinegar to make the nylon absorb the dye better. Leave the wheels or part in the boiling water over low heat until the color is right, about 30 minutes or so. Try it!
Yeah, I have to try using TR85 method to use peroxide to make the color white again. I tried using regular bleach, but it didn't work that well.

Souhaitez-vous écrire quelques lignes sur la façon dont vous teindre les roues? Ce serait bien si nous pouvons partager un peu de votre expérience
Pour les roues jaunâtre, TR85 avait affiché une méthode parfois il ya pour les rendre à nouveau blanc, il utilise un oxyde très concentré (40%) - du jour au lendemain.
Je n'ai jamais essayé car je ne pouvais pas trouver le peroxyde ici.

Salut Eric-z,
Qu'est-ce que je fais normalement est bouillir une casserole d'eau et ajouter la couleur de teinture que vous souhaitez utiliser. Je mets dans un peu de vinaigre pour faire le nylon absorber le colorant mieux. Laissez les roues ou en partie dans l'eau bouillante à feu doux jusqu'à ce que la couleur est bonne, environ 30 minutes. Essayez-le!
Ouais, je dois essayer d'utiliser la méthode TR85 utilisation du peroxyde de faire à nouveau la couleur blanche. J'ai essayé d'utiliser l'eau de Javel ordinaire, mais il ne l 't travail très bien.
