Well, it's really hard to make a ranking, because there are a lot of RC cars i do like. But right now, my favorites out of my collection are:

The Sodimo i like best! Very nice on-road!

Yes, it is in okay condition. But want to make it perfect.
The hole in the body will be fixed with ABS sheet and a bit of glass fiber mat and expoxy on the backside.
Front and rear tires will be replaced. By foam tires.

completely agree with you. the fascination is in the simplicity of these models. and for yankee - i love the early yankee look; it's very characteristic.

Bon soir mes amis! The last months i became a real Yankee fan/nut. And i purchased several Yankees. One of these is this sweet Enduro 80. Car is in a good state, but not perfect. I think the futuristic touch comes from 3D software used to visualize the idea.
The material used (FR4 epoxy) is plain old school. As used in the early days of RC.

As the original chassis plate looks not very pretty and is not that stable, i decided to create my own. The 3D renderings/designs show how the final product shall look like. Plate will be made out of 2,5 mm FR4 epoxy and should be very strong. So lets see how it will come out ... :wink: http://i110....

This evening i again put my magic hands on the chassis. :x I installed the new, specially made front wheels and the radio plate. As the new front wheels are bigger than the original ones i had to raise the front axle to get the right rake. On the radio plate i installed servo, on-off switch, receive...

A little progress here. I detached the wheel axles and springs and brought them to a company specialized in metal chroming. Today i picked up the finished parts. The body is out of lexan and it is painted from the inside. It is very very nice.
The motor acutally is a Mabuchi.

For the chassis/suspension/layout it is really very very basic, with a lot of room of improvement.
