Bon soir mes amis!

The last months i became a real Yankee fan/nut.
And i purchased several Yankees.

One of these is this sweet Enduro 80.
Car is in a good state, but not perfect.

In the first step i will strip it down, then refurbish parts and put it together again.

Updates on the rebuild/restoration will be posted here from time to time.

completely agree with you. the fascination is in the simplicity of these models. and for yankee - i love the early yankee look; it's very characteristic.

Il est superbe et en très bon état.
Tu peux réparer facilement le trou dans la carrosserie avec de l'ABS liquide.
Pour info, les jantes avant ne semblent pas être celles d'origine mais je trouve que celle-ci élargisse la voie et lui donne un super look.

Yes, it is in okay condition. But want to make it perfect.
The hole in the body will be fixed with ABS sheet and a bit of glass fiber mat and expoxy on the backside.
Front and rear tires will be replaced. By foam tires.

Started to strip the Enduro 80 down. Next i sorted out all metal parts and gave it away for chroming and black chroming (to the right on the photo). The result is bright and shiny and looks like this:

Luckily i got hold of a brand new chassis plate (together with another).
Couldn't believe my eyes when i found it! Very rare item!
And should make my Enduro 80 even nicer!

I have decided to design and let produce new wheels for my project.
The design is created after the classic "Wolfrace" Style which was popular in the 70s.
Wheels - front & rear - will have the same size/dimension like the original wheels.
The finish will be aluminium with gold anodizing.

Specially designed aluminium wheels are here. I made the 3D drawings of the wheels earlier several weeks ago. Between drawings and finished wheels is a period of about 1 month.
Dimensions are same as original rims. Result is pretty nice with the gold anodizing. Gold color matches the new chassis plate very well.
Center recess will get some ball bearings fitted later.

ouuuaaahhhh...trop beau

After stripping down my little Enduro, refurbishing and replacing old/broken parts/screws and further designing and producing new ones such as wheels & tires, the little racer now is in semi-assembled state.

The black/gold/silver concept works well. Old skool kool - like no other. I also mounted one of my specially made velocity stacks and "knock-off" style wheel center nuts.
A few parts still need to be attached like radio plate and rear cage.

Waouhh, ça c'est beau!! Bravo..

Super jolie avec ces jantes et son cornet.
ça change un peu du "tout d'origine", c'est de bon goût ( enfin du mien ) et les modifications ne sont pas irréversibles. Je suis un peu moins fan du pot.

Beau travail
Un Yankee en or !!!

After a break of half a year the project continues.

The past few weeks i paid attention to the body.

I removed the old paint with "Paint Killer". This took a while until the paint went off.
Note the black colored ABS, very special as normally the bodies came in white color.

Some sections were repaired with epoxy and glass fiber matt and filled with putty. Then i primered the body. After that sanding with 400 grid paper followed. I repeated this step several times till the surface was smooth.
Now its ready for its read coat.

Mon Yankee avance ,j ai trouve dans Mon stock pas mal de choses une carro de 83 qui une fois decoupee devrait aller, j ai des jantes Yankee il me manque une jante noire arriere avec la gorge pour la poulie ,j ai deux jantes vertes pour l avant ,il me faudrait les dimensions des roullements de jantes ainsi que ceux des deux bras arrieres

J essaie de metres une photo pas simple ,j ai trouve un k&b il manque une jantes arriere

Bonsoir le k&b ,vient d être remplacé par un cipolla ,il me manque une jante yankee noire à gorge pour l arrière ,des que j ai appris à installer les photos vous en aurez devrait rouler à la vosgienne ,éric ,en possedes aussi ,donc une arsouille des yankee préhistoriques .

Finally restoration is finished! The whole story about it as follows:
Restoration started from a good used example which underwent elaborate treatment. The custom made wheels are outlined after the classic Wolfrace design and are made from aluminium with gold anodizing. Even the tires front and rear are limited production based on the design of the original foam tires. Several of the worn out original aluminium parts were made new through CNC machining. And many of the metal/steel parts are chromed to complete the show condition. The ABS body was stripped and repaired and got several coats of Red paint. Decals/Livery is inspired by 60s Ferrari Formula race cars. The engine is classic OS Max 21 with customized and chromed exhaust end.

Beautiful car . You get an amazing model after all this work !
By the way , I believe your car is an Enduro 81 , not a 80 version . Your shock absorbers and wheel fixations are the late version of Enduro 80/81 .

Le travail réalisé sur cette voiture est tout simplement superbe. Le rouge est une couleur qui convient vraiment très bien aux TT Yankee.
