Landjump Integra another new one

Message par Mar1 » 01 Oct 2009, 10:57

hello friends,

This is a new built LANDJUMP INTEGRA, it was wrongly assembled with some rusted and missing parts, kept it aside for sometime since i didn't have time to even look at it. Lately I spent few hours on it to complete it. Took out all the metallic non aluminum parts and removed the rust from them, and specially coated them to prevent any future aging effect. I assembled it purposely to be on the shelf ! that means no oil in the shocks, no screw cement, no over tightening of screws or nuts, just a gentle assembly that will keep it together. Now the Integra is ready for the shelf and will remain there might paint it and add the driver doll (if i can find a driver doll with decals ;) )

Fighting rust

Hi Mar

That's a very nice car ! Could you advice on how you remove rust, and what special coating you use ?

Thanks :)

Hi TR85 / eric-Z

Thank you for your kind comments

I chemically cleaned the steel parts, then nickel plated them to prevent rust again, See the shafts and joints all are shiny, no black steel parts anymore.

I took the steel parts to a coating shop here in Kuwait, these shops usually do real car wheels, I gather all the steel parts that I want to plate and do them one time. I don't like painting the metal parts since it will look fake.
