Hi Rod, Delta made it stronger, but it was probably heavier compared to other cars from this era.

great !! , it's a really interesting car , is it the last one before super J ?
does that one also called the J car ? after D car's (dash 1 , dash 2 )

i've seen one SS car on ebay last month , but a rear wheel was missing ...

I never seen one completly assembled , only some delta stuff , it there a radio plate on it ? :D

Thank you MK4, nice pics.
Delta produced the "D" car in 1969-1970, after that the J car about 1971, then the "JF" or JFlexcar about 1972, SL car in 1973 and the SS chassis in 1974.

For complete history of Delta RC cars see this link: http://www.sgrid.com/forum/showthread.p ... A-R-C-Cars

Yes, this is the car that you saw on ebay.

Hi OCA1,
Wow, It's a real great car :D also quite rare machine for sure :ok: :ok:
I can not wait your completing this treasure.

Here attached is one of my exotic chassis. The construction is almost the same as your delta.
This one was made by Mr.Don Huber in Wyoming,Who started to do RC competition from the end of 60's
and took part in ROAR U.S.A as the private team till 80's.
He was also the machine shop owner at that time. Most of my special made machines were made by him.
It's really precious quality and respectable for his passion and hi-quality working.
Though there are missing parts, I would like to complete it someday!

Thank you assocista,

Interesting, it's a real unique chassis that you have there. Judging from the rear pod design it might have some sort of belt drive transmission like the Thorp car. :ok:

I hope that you will be able to get the parts together and one day finish this cool project 8)

Cheers! OCA1 :D

Yeah, it's a great find. I only saw a similar car for sale a few years back, but at the time I didn't realize that it was a Delta car.

ok , that's a fantastic car now ! :ok:
With these technical solutions i think it was running smoothly.
It's amazing that super J car front end was less sofisticated .

Yeah, I don't now why they changed it, the Delta guys maybe tried to make a simpler design (super J) to save some weight and maybe reduce production cost.
Thanks :)

 Bigger is not always better? It's a mini filler cap, gives the driver more time to relax during a fuel pit stop
