Hi OCA1
WoOoOoOoOOOOOW, It's very special RC300 and great looking
The Pipe is a real Thorp style. It loos like a long cigar case
Is the front chassis the composite spec with CFRP & FRP?
Here is my RC300 BD CFRP version. It must be same construction CFRP

Hi Assocista,
Exactly, the pipe looks like a cuban cigar. It's quite long and therefore it is perfect when used with an side exhaust engine like an OS or OPS. When using a rear exhaust engine like the K&B the pipe will hit the front steering.
The chassis is made out of CFRP. It was custom made at the time using DELTA CFRP material, the material looks similar to your CFRP chassis.

Thorp Star was also used a similar Cuban Cigar
It's very interesting pipe.

That's another interesting and cool Thorp pipe. Do you know when the Thorp star was released...the early 80's?

My posted photo is the scene from 1983 World Championship Cameaux France.
It was the prototype from Thorp manufacturing. So It was released at the mid of 80's.
However, I heard that The production was quite few at that time.
It's a really rare machine

Simon,
Thank you for the compliments. These hubs are made by Thorp and came with the Thorp Ball Diff as a set.

This Thorp Ball Diff was manufactured before Associated came out with their own Ball Diff. It will only fit Thorp/Cook Racing style wheels.

OCA1 Yeah~

It's a very fresh specification and also nice looking
Is FRP Radio plate own made when you were doing in the 70's?
FRP Color looks SP
Attached is my other BD. The Can Muff is located on the radio plate as photo.
Such spec was done by Mr.Gene Husting at RC World Cup Monaco 1979.
There were lots of interesting trial during 70's to 80's.

Yes, I made the FRP radio plate myself in the late 70's. The FRP material was sold by the hobby shops as an option part to make your own custom radio tray, but I can't recall the brand, it could be Associated or RPM

During those day many racer made their own custom radio tray.
Your BD has a very unique and interesting configuration with the can muffler mounted on the radio plate. I love it! I remember seeing some pictures of this type of car spec by Gene Hustings.

Very nice job!
This is Ralph Burch's RC300 with FRP radio tray and flipped servo saver

Actually the charm of RC300 is to arrange the radio plate to own style
Ralph was so young when he was driving that RC300. Genius
