Thanks to my good friend Jon Cook I was finally able to identify this engine. It is a Nelson .15 (2,5cc) F.I.R.E pylonracer engine, converted for use in a car. The carb is an Irvine unit (merci GuidonJr)

So, the conclusion: Made and designed for the Serpent Quattro with the 'cascade' gear drive, nice idea, but low quality kit. I doubt if this will ever work properly.
